Covenant University, through the Community Development Impact Initiative Committee (CDIIC), Cisco Network Academy, and in conjunction with the Palace of Olota of Otta, passed out successful trainees of the just concluded Ota Youth Empowerment Digital Training 2023.
The closing ceremony took place at the Postgraduate Cafeteria, Covenant University, in the royal presence of our most revered royal father, Olofin Apesin Olode, Olota, and Ruler of the Paramount and Ancient Ottaland, Awori Kingdom, His Majesty, Oba Professor Adeyemi Abdukabir Obalanlege, Ph.D., MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA (Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode), and other prominent dignitaries, including Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Professor Abiodun Adebayo, among others.
In his royal remarks, His Majesty commended the founder and Chancellor of Covenant University, His Lordship, Bishop David Oyedepo, for his numerous life-impacting interventions in the Kingdom. Kabiyesi appreciated the digital training organizing team led by Professor Tayo George for the commitment and passion exhibited in ensuring the success of the 21st century empowerment program.
His Majesty assured the University of the continuous support and cooperation of the people of Ottaland and environs towards the sustainability of the thoughtful vision of the university, most especially in the area of human capacity building and touching lives in general.
While congratulating the passing out students, Kabiyesi Olota charged the beneficiaries to set their priorities right, ensure they put all they have learned into practice, and equally impact other youths in their circle.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun Adebayo, who, on behalf of the university, presented an Award for Excellent Service to Humanity to His Majesty, also applauded Kabiyesi Olota for his fatherly roles and transformative leadership since his ascension to the Revered Stool of Olota of Otta.
The training covers cinematography, cyber security, IoT, IT essentials, graphics, Python, solar panels, and web design.
